The Anguilla Department of Disaster Management (DDM) serves as the central coordinating authority for all disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response, and recovery activities on the island.
Established by the Disaster Management Act, DDM works closely with government ministries, international partners, community groups, and the public to build a resilient, disaster-ready Anguilla.

2001
FoundedEstablished by the Disaster Management Act
DDM was established to provide Anguilla with a dedicated, professional disaster risk management authority. Since inception, the agency has grown from a small coordination office into a full-service department with trained specialists across all four phases of emergency management.
2004
First National Plan
Anguilla's inaugural National Disaster Management Plan developed in partnership with CDEMA.
2017
Hurricane Irma Response
DDM led Anguilla's recovery from one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes on record.
2023
NEOC Expansion
A modernised National Emergency Operations Centre opened, enhancing monitoring capability.
Current Objectives
Aligned with the Sendai Framework and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) regional strategy.
Community Awareness
Expand public education campaigns to reach every household with preparedness knowledge.
