Since much of the travel that takes place in and out of Anguilla is facilitated by boat, the combination of the number of cruise ships that access our waters, marine incidents are a constant concern. The risks posed to property, people, and the environment are very high, but the risk to operations is minimal. Nevertheless, the heavy potential impact of marine incidents.

Before the Accident
Know the Signs
  • Make up a plan of where to meet your family after an earthquake.
  • Don't leave heavy objects on shelves (they'll fall during a quake).
  • Anchor heavy furniture, cupboards, and appliances to the walls or floor.
  • Learn the earthquake plan at your school or workplace.
Know the assembly points
  • If you're at school or work, follow the emergency plan or the instructions of the person in charge.
    Expect aftershocks.
Stay calm! If you're indoors, stay inside. If you're outside, stay outside.
