Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has reminded us that the possibility of a health emergencies causing major interruption the economy and significant demand on our health systems. An epidemic occurring is very serious risk for Anguilla, particularly for property, the people and operations. The potential impact on the environment is less than the impact on economic conditions, but the island is vulnerable to several potential health hazards, due especially to its tropical marine climate, the dependency on tourism and limited health care services immediately available in the island.
